What do you do when you are uncertain?

I am not sure where to begin. Its been a weird beginning of the year so far. I am uncertain about many things because of the way events have unfolded. First my sister crashed my car. Then, I got in an accident. Then, a friend's car got taken for a joy ride for a couple hours (when we presumed it was stolen), then my mom's cell was lifted from her restraunt while she was standing there, then my newphew got diagnosed with cancer, then one of the relatives I went to visit in Kenya died, then a friend of my mother died in a car crash while going home, then a co-worker's father had to have surgery cause bacteria got into their blood stream from their kidney stones, another friend's father became depressed and ran away from home and finally another friend quit school because she couldn't even afford to eat food anymore. In a span of 3 months, there have been icky news after icky news.

I turned 24 two weeks ago and more than ever I am uncertain. So what do you do when you are uncertain? This thought resonated within me when I heard the man utter it on stage. It was an assigment I had to do for a class but yet I felt I was destined to hear this. He spoke of how a sailor uses the stars to tell where he is, but what if while journeying the clouds cover the stars? Is the sailor on the right path? Did he veer of it or did he imagine the stars in the first place? I was riveted to my seat for the rest of the play waiting to find the answer to the question posed but sadly at the end of the play I was left with more questions. So I ask you, what do you do when you are uncertain?

Salaam SD,

That is a lot to take in for anyone w/in span of 90 days. One of the two women (May Allah have mercy on her soul) that died from the highway accident was also my mom's friend as well. I actually met her about 5 years ago when I was living in MN. Her younger siblings and my mom (and her siblings) went to school together - they're from the same hometown, Diinsoor. She was a pleasant person. I didn't know the other lady, but I was more sadden by her death (didn't she just came out of umul?) I pray to Allah that her husband and kids get the patience and strength to go on.

And as for your, SD, I strongly recommend Salatul Istakhara. Also, fasting would be a great supplement.

Insha'Allah, everything will become clear for you.

Salaam,

Oh God, I'm sorry to hear about all the unfortunate incidents. May Allah bestow peace on the departed. Ilaahay ha u naxiisto.

SD, I agree with Om. Prayers work wonders for the uncertain soul. It also helps to talk to somebody about how you are feeling.

Take it easy, hun.

Salam SD...you've had a a lot to go through in the past 3months.

May Allah have mercy on the deceased and protect them from the punishment of the grave.

May Allah grant health to those that are unwell. May Allah ease the affairs of those going through hardship.

There is an aya that i find comfort in when going thru hard times 'ina ma'al usri yusri' 'with hardship comes ease'

inshaAllah your load will be lightened and Allah will ease your affairs for u.

Just make lots of dua and inshaAllah all will be better soon.

I will make dua 4 u too siste

Keep supplicating!

salaamu aleykum warahmatulaahi wabarakaatu sis,

Tests, trails and difficulties. Allah tests those that he loves. Allah will test us with;
- Fear (loss of security)
- Hunger
- Wealth
- Death
- Loss of crops

Verily after every hardship there is ease, verily after every hardship there is ease
Surat Ash-Sharh: Verse 5-6)

Allah will test you according to your emaan, the stronger the emaan the tougher the test and visa versa. Trails and tribulations are an opportunity to become closer to Allah azza wa jal & an opportunity be raised higher ranks in Jannah.

Make sincere du'a to Allah and increase ibadaat insha'allah

Deal with them (trails) in a state of patience & gratitude insha'allah.

wasalaamu aleykum warahmatulaah wabarakaatu sis

SD,

So very sorry to hear of all the pain and tragedy that you and your family had to endure. These stressors have a way of eating your insides and I hope you will have some joy in your life from this point on. I will keep your nephew in my prayers, may he beat that beast.

Just pray and be positive dear, and everything will turn out for the better...and in one of my fav blogs, there is a banner with these message: Sometimes, struggles are exactly what we need in our life. If God allowed us to go through our life without any obstacles,it would cripple us...
